It was not long after Banvont that the Elementals came across a whimsical traveler, constantly cackling with an uncanny grin stretched across his face. He slouched when in the presence of the Elementals so that they may see his face as he seemed to dwarf them all much like Klaus, the former king of Banvont that had fallen prey to his own dismay. There was undoubtedly a hint of mischief within his aged amber eyes as he took a hold of the fire Elemental’s paw within his own. She reluctantly stood firm as he studied her pelt while inquiring on personal matters such as her previous life before deciding to travel with the equally important main elementals.

“Just who do you think you are, mister? It’s none of your business of what her affairs where before this,” another elemental spoke with a hint of irritation edged deeply within the fissure of his words. The strange cat that took a hold of the younger Elemental’s paw swiftly, but diligently, allowed her to retreat her paw before lowering his gaze to the earth Elemental.

“Oh, but it is, dear acquaintance, everything you have done within the duration of your being is my personal business as well. Every thought you every have conquered within that minuscule, insufficient, organ that you call a brain is my personal business. Every action you have ever taken is part of my personal business, every breath you ever took to expand you pointless life is my own personal matter,” he hissed in a low tone. The smile that once eerily settled as his expression now began to form into a grimace almost like he expected the elder Elemental to understand what he was doing and why.

The earth Elemental slowly drew back at his response with a small quiver in his step as another elemental, appearing about the same age as the fire Elemental, arose to support his claim. “Like Hiro has said, nothing of our past is of importance to any passer by hoping to obtain an insight in our lives.” He slowly leisured to the tall traveler but his paced became sluggish once he was mere centimeters away. “Now, please, leave us be.”

With that, he and the others slowly began their way off but the fire Elemental began to lag behind almost as is if she wanted the traveler to stop her once again. Whether she intended this or not, the traveler soon caught up to her once she turned around to find that he had vanished and turned once more only to collide with his torso. The impact wasn’t as hard as she thought thanks to his matted, coiled, brunette fur softening the initial blow a fair amount. Being only stunned of his sudden ability to teleport, she slowly elevated her gaze to match his.

“Hello, my dear child of the stars, voyager of the land, may I inquire to what might your given name be?”

The fire Elemental slowly glanced over his frame to find the rest of the Elementals to be within a few meters of her position. “…it’s Nastasia.”

“Ah, what a lovely name that is, indeed,” the strange tom responded, “but do please allow my abrupt appearance. I was merely trying to convene with you while you were still in Banvont, before this entire catastrophe occurred…you could’ve prevented it all if you merely have just noticed me within the palace, only then would you have prevented the demise of yourself.” The whimsical traveler slowly pulled up his matted fur that draped his paws to reveal a small wrist device that was covered in small buttons and a small screen to the left of them all. He lowered his head, hastily pressing buttons with his violet tongue as Nastasia continued the conversation without him.

“Excuse me,” Nastasia asked, appalled by his response, “it’s not my fault I’m s-“

“Sorry to say, love, but you aren’t as special as you think you are,” said he as the device began to emit strange clicking noises, “anyone could’ve taken your place just as easily as the gods gave it to you, and you know what?”

            “What?”

The tom quickly looked up from his wrist as the clicking became louder, narrowing his eyes, causing them to look like that of a snake’s. “You blathering idiots think you have the worst or best life depending if everything meets your criteria. I, myself, would know from experience for I am too what you call ‘special’ but believe an expert, my dear,” he quickly replied, “because you will pray to the gods if you come to the conclusion that you are wrong with your initial assumption.”

Nastasia’s tail twitched once she heard the words ‘I am too what you call special’. Anger slowly distended inside of her. “What are you talking about? Sensei has told me about the main and lesser elementals in an attempt to comfort as a kit but you, sir, match the description of none of them!”

“Well, that’s because my assistant is cleaning my goggles and eye piece from the arid region’s sand storm that I had to endure when I had to make a trip through a kit’s timeline and my bag is off in the washer’s because I spilled some uranium within it and let me tell you, honey, you do not want to smell like toxins where we are going.” He quickly took hold of Nastasia’s scruff before she could protest. She struggled for mere seconds before she felt him release her causing her to stumble before she could retain her position. Once she saw where she was at, however, she slowly shrunk behind him in an attempt to stay hidden.

Around them was nothing but tall grass that stood to meet the stranger’s chin. One could have easily tell where someone could have been due to their indentation and sure enough, meters away, a diminutive indent within the grass caught Nastasia’s eyes in a matter of seconds. “Shall we see what lies ahead of us?” he said, as he calmly strutted towards the indent in the grass. Nastasia followed soon after. Since she was significantly smaller than the stranger was, she noticed he had a slight hop in his step. Every few steps, his back legs would kick up as if he was excited for the reaction that he would soon get from Nastasia.

Once they arrived at the opening, the stranger moved to the side to allow Nastasia access. Her confusion must have showed upon her face without her realizing it for the stranger sighed before commanding, “Look down if you want to know.”

Reluctantly, she lowered her gaze to find two small bodies flailing and mewling in an attempt to call for someone, only for the wind to softly blow the grass, causing them to rustle which unsurprisingly drowned out their calls. One was a fiery orange, ears already pricked up; the other was a light lavender color with dull purple points around her ears eyes and paws. “Is that who I think it is?” Nastasia inquired.

“Indeed it is, Nastasia. I believe no one told you of your birth?”

            Nastasia nodded in response.

“Right, so, you weren’t born within the Fire tribe like you may have thought AND you may have thought that you were also born to Maple and Pine but don’t believe trees created your fiery spirit, “the stranger laughed. Nastasia, while trying to be serious, also gave out and laughed quietly. “…well, all jokes aside, they aren’t your true architects, if you know what I mean. They simply took care of you while in the Fire Tribe, but this is where it all began, Nastasia. Look, stare at yourself in awe but don’t touch, please. I really don’t want to deal with another paradox today!”

“Paradox? What’s a paradox?” Nastasia asked, not taking her eyes off her younger self.

“Err, well, a paradox occurs when there are two beings with the exact same molecules, atoms, Deoxyribonucleic acid, are at the same exact place, time, and they touch. They aren’t suppose to be their originally so the universe gets confused—HA—and BOOM goes the universe in mystification!” He practically yelled the entire sentence as the kits began to screech louder and louder in bewilderment at all the noise. “Right, there, kits, hush, now, don’t get yourselves killed now, you are expected to achieve great things in life later on,” he whispered, stroking their backs with his soft, elongated tail.

Nastasia stepped backwards once she felt the urge to try and sooth the kits. Paradox would cause the universe to implode, she remembered, implode.

She was too busy thinking of paradoxes and wondering how she was even able to appear to what this stranger claimed to be her past to listen to him speaking.

“…but what if they were to?”

Nastasia snapped her head back up. “To what, to do what?”

“Nastasia, how many times in your life have you thought to yourself ‘What would have happened if you never have met Nastumora, or if you never met any of the Elementals. What if the Elementals didn’t exist?” The stranger didn’t look up when asking the question. He only continued to stare down at the small kits writhing in terror knowing that the watching over them clearly wasn’t their mother.

Startled by the question, Nastasia took a moment to answer before replying with, “Too often.”

The stranger began to smile wickedly. “Well,” he started, “would you like to see the world without you, my fiery companion?” His grin began to become more eerie as his eyes began to narrow in excitement. He glanced at Nastasia before looking down at the kits for a last time. “Well, Nastasia, NEVER, EVER, deny the truth from an expert!”

Nastasia watched in confusion as the stranger began to shout nonsense but fear quickly over took her as she began to hear shouting from a distance. Her instincts kicked in as she ran towards the kits; however, before she was able to make it to them, the stranger picked her up by the scruff and ran the opposite direction.

“Put me down!” she demanded as she flailed about but to no avail.

His pace began to slow as it became a trot. He swiftly turned around and through Nastasia’s fur whispered, “Everything happens for a reason, Nastasia, don’t ever deny fate.”

Nastasia was settled onto the ground but held firmly in place by the stranger’s front paws. The yelling from previously became louder and louder and soon sounded as if they were right in front of her. Nastasia knew what this stranger had done and only waited as the screeching became distant. Soon, nothing could be heard.

After a period of silence, she only heard, “Well, this is going to be fun,” before darkness veiled her sight.

It's 3:08 as I type the begining of this.
I'm EXTREMELY TIRED. I've practically been up for two days because it was mom's birthday and she ruined it before we could even have fun. I got to make a mud-cake oreo and implode my toilet with vomit because of all the creme cheese frosting I had to consume. I needed to relax. I NEED TO RELAX. I'm due to edit something else in due time but for now...this will have to do. XD
It's been a while since I've been on DA and decided to look through my gallery and WHAT A BAD IDEA IT WAS. I'm really tempted to delete everything but stories. REALLY. I probably will, too.
Anyways, I saw this and thought, "...this is decent. I like it."
So I'm thinking of continuing it since it leaves off on a cliff note. I mean, I have ideas about what to write and I have Google Docs. now. If I can, I'll try to get Natsumora's chapter up before...later tonight or early morning? Maybe. I don't know.
